YOUTH-NGAGE is an initiative of Words Rhymes & Rhythm Publishers to discover and support young Nigerian writers of school age to ensure the realization of their full potentials. It aims at filling the talent development and mentorship vacuum in the Nigerian literary space.
- young writers are unlikely to seek personal improvement without guidance
- many young writers do not reach their full potential because of inadequate attention for their writings
- more learning and development takes place in interactive social settings than in rigid classrooms
- there are many (free) tools that can help writers excel in the craft
- young writers with mentors often do better
YOUTH-NGAGE creates opportunities for self-development through flexible mentorship, interactive and informal learning events/workshops, sponsored training, publishing opportunities, and other incentives. It is simply a creative engagement/education of young writers.
HOW DO WE DO THIS?
Through YOUTH-NGAGE, Words Rhymes & Rhythm Publishers supports existing literary initiatives organized by individuals and groups (like schools or clubs and societies). We sponsor and/or facilitate learning interactions that include but are not limited to the following:
- book picnics, readings and meets (offline and online)
- writing workshops (online and offline)
- mentorship with motivational talks (online and offline)
- blogging and social media creation training (offline)
- opportunities: publishing and prizes (online)
- interactions with popular authors (offline and online)
- school book publishing support & discounts
In addition to the above, we provide participants with an opportunity to put their works out and get validation through our online platforms that accept and publish writings from young writers. Participants also get access to an e-learning portal and free-entry writing contests.
WE CAN COME TO YOU!
Groups, schools (primary, secondary, and tertiary) as well as other youth bodies can reach out to us to benefit from the YOUTH-NGAGE initiative. Aside from the invaluable knowledge gained, participating students and schools will get free books and publishing discounts.
