BIOGRAPHY:
Shareefah Ibrahim Zarma is a Kaduna-born Nigerian writer and women rights campaigner from the Babur tribe of Askira-Uba Local Government Area of Borno State. She began her education at Seat of Wisdom Nursery and Primary School, Kano and proceeded to Uncle Bado Memorial College Kaduna for her secondary school education. She studied English Literature at the Kaduna State University, graduating in 2015. Afterwards, she served her fatherland as a member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) at the National Judicial Council, Abuja.
Sheefah Zarma – as she is called, started writing in 2015. Her first book titled ‘The Silent Noise and Other Poems’ was published in April 2016. Aside from writing, she actively participates in women empowerment advocacy through poetry recitals, speeches, and spoken word performances. Her writing is heavily influenced by feminist ideals.
