BIOGRAPHY:

Adamu Usman Garko is a student of Gombe High School, Gombe State. He is a poet, short story writer, and essayist. He was a finalist for the 2018 Wole Soyinka International Cultural Exchange (WSICE) and he was guest Artist at the Yasmin El-Rufai Foundation (YELF) monthly Literary Evening in September 2018.

Garko’s works have been published by several print and electronic platforms including but not limited to Blueprint Newspaper, The Arts-muse Fair, Poetry Planet, and Praxis Magazine. His poem ‘Date’ was published in 84 Delicious Bottles of Wine for Wole Soyinka, a 2018 anthology edited by Onyeka Nwelue and Odega Shawa to mark the Nobel Laureate’ 84th birthday. His poem ‘Remembrance’, article ‘Reading culture’ and a story ‘Farewell’ appeared in international anthologies edited by Rajdeep Chowdhury and published in London. He is also a contributor to the Third Chinua Achebe Essay/Poetry Anthology. ‘When Day Breaks’ is his first published book. It was listed on the Daily Trust Newspaper’s list of 15 Best Books of 2018.
